2nd of December - Edward Scissorhands

Today is the first sunday in Advent and last night the first snow fell from the sky. Although it was more sleet than snow it looked absolutely magical because it sparkled and shimmered in the soft light of the fairy lights in front of our house. I wished that I could run outside and dance in the snow.
That thought reminded me of a movie called Edward Scissorhands. It is about a 96 year old woman who describes to her great- granddaughter where snow comes from, by telling her the story of a young man named Edward (Johnny Depp)  who has scissors for hand and lives in an old spooky castle. Edward was created by an very old inventor who died before he could finished him.
Many years after Edward was created, a caring woman called Peg Boggs finds him alone in the big house and decides to take him to her home where he becomes friends with her family and later falls in love with her daughter Kim,  played by Winona Ryder (who looks quite similar to Keira Knightley in this movie! ;))

On Christmas Eve Edward creates an ice sculpture with is scissorhands  for Kim and thousands of ice christals are flying through the air so one can think that it is snow. When Kim looks out of the window and sees all the snowflakes she runs outside and dances in the snow. She's wearing a beautiful white dress in this scene and looks absolutely gorgeous.

The Dance is accompanied musically by a beautiful classical song called "Ice Dance". It is created by Danny Elfman.

We included a video of the scene (isn't a  good quality, sorry!!) and the soundtrack!!

If you don't know what to do on a cold, snowily winter day, take a look at this film!! It is totally worth it!!!
