8th of December - We are the world

Although the winter time is a time where everyone is looking forward to Christmas, the most of them forget that it isn't just the time of snow, biscuits, presents and fairy lights but the time of the year to think and especially to help other people who cannot enjoy christmas because they are homeless or discriminated.

When there was the hunger crises in Ethiopia from 1985 to 1986 Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie had the fantastic idea to write a song which should encourage the people all around the world to help.
The song is called "We are the world" and is sung by the most famous and successful singers of this time, for example Steve Wonder, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen and for sure Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

I like to listen to this emotionel song especially in the time before Christmas because it has such an important message. Whenever I listen to this, I always feel guilty of not doing enough for other people and to care too much about things which are not worth a single thought. And it makes me cry every time.

In 2010 the song was recorded one more time after the earthquake in Haiti but this time with other singers like Celine Dion, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx, Josh Groban, Barbra Streisand and Usher.
